
Pastor Tony Hayworth
The Rev. Anthony E. Hayworth serves as pastor at Fairview Moravian Church. Tony, the son of J. Earl Hayworth and Betty Rothrock Hayworth, was blessed to grow up in the Friedland Moravian congregation and was nurtured by many pastors, teachers and role models. During his Friedland years, Tony met his future wife, Laura (Barnes) Hayworth, the daughter of The Reverend Alan H. Barnes and Mary Elizabeth (Tesch) Barnes. He comes to Fairview following pastorates at Grace Moravian in Mt. Airy and First Moravian in Greensboro. Pastor Tony graduated in 2008 with a Master of Divinity from Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, PA and is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Spirituality from Virginia Theological Seminary. Tony graduated from NCSU with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and worked in chemical manufacturing in High Point and Greensboro for 21 years. His wife, Laura, works at Atrium Health Baptist Medical Center and is the organist at Christ Moravian. Their daughter, Elizabeth, and husband, Stephen, welcomed their first child, Alan James Thiele, on February 11th, 2021. Tony has interest in evangelism, Bible study, Jesus’ healing ministry, spiritual formation, carpentry, and mission outreach; he plays golf and grows grass for fun and relaxation. They, along with loving dogs Bella and Milo, have a home just south of Pinnacle.

Patricia Rau, Ministry Assistant/Treasurer
Patricia Rau serves the congregation as Administrative Assistant and Treasurer. Van Krause, Choir and Band Director
Van was born in Winston-Salem, NC- February 13 1955. He began playing in the Moravian Band 61 years ago and has directed the Advent-Hopewell Moravian Band for 43 years. Van has also directed choirs for 18 years, played in numerous bands and wind ensembles, a solo trumpetist for weddings, choir anthems and cantatas and other church events, a member of two Old Salem costume bands, and worked for 48 years as an HVAC sheet metal layout man and fabricator. Van has been married to the love of his life Teresa Black Krause for almost 46 years. They have one son Kevin and a daughter Krystal and celebrate seven Grandchildren. All of their names start with the letter “K”. One can find Van often leading band preludes before worship or playing his trumpet to accentuate a congregational hymn! Van writes, “I learned at an early age that music stirs the soul. When the Lord calls we need to listen. He will continually restore Joy in your heart. My joy comes through music and I can only hope to convey that to others that enjoy playing and singing. Fairview has been friendly and welcoming since I began directing the band in January of 2017. We would love to have you join us in the Fairview Band.” Praise the Lord with music!
Martha Evans, Accompanist on Organ and Piano
Martha was born and raised in Winston-Salem. A graduate of West Forsyth High School and Mitchell Junior College, she has been involved in the music ministry of various churches as pianist, organist, or director since the age of 15. She has been most fortunate to serve her Lord at South Fork Baptist, Peace Haven Baptist, Southside Baptist, and Lewisville Baptist – with the privilege to learn under the direction of various directors, attributing her gift of musical talent as God-given. Martha is also an Executive Assistant with Hanesbrands, with 43 years of service. She and her daughter, Melissa, live in Winston-Salem. If you have time to drop into the adult choir practice, you will discover Martha’s exceptional musicality with a special blend of humor and spirituality that adds an element to practice that lifts one’s spirit and creates broad smiles and warm chuckles! Colossians 3:16 – Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
