CONTINUING RENEWAL AND REVIVAL
On June 4th during the Sunday School hour, the congregation will gather for a special event, a Conversation Cafe, to ensure the Reviewal and Revival that God has invited us to will continue.
THE RENEWAL AND REVIVAL SERVICES
We invite you to join Fairview Moravian for Renewal and Revival Services on May 4 and May 5 (Thursday and Friday) at 7 pm. The final service will be our Anniversary Sunday worship on May 7 at 10 am. Following worship, we will have a covered dish celebration lunch in our Fellowship Hall. The guest preacher for the three services is The Rt. Rev. Tom Shelton.
In preparation for God’s Spirit to renew and revive us spiritually and for mission, we will provide many opportunities to pray together leading up to the services. Fairview’s program for Christian Spiritual Practice will include prayer time for the revival. All are welcome to join us in the Conference Room on Tuesdays at 12:15. If you are unable to join in person, you can join virtually! Find the Zoom link “Christian Spiritual Practice” at Fairview Moravian Church. Our current spiritual practice is Lectio Divina, essentially “praying the Bible.”
To prepare for God’s renewing and reviving Spirt, Fairview will meet for prayer each Sunday morning (Palm Sunday to April 30th) in the Weber Classroom from 9:15 to 9:30. We will offer additional times for prayer, including prayer meetings in members’ homes. For information please contact Pastor Tony Hayworth at tony@fairviewmoravianchurch.org.
We recognize that “Prayer always precedes Pentecost” (Power from on High, emphasis added). The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 2 tells of the first Pentecost and how the Holy Spirit came upon those gathered in worship and prayer. The Spirit of God: 1) empowered those gathered for the ministry of the church through the Holy Spirit for the task at hand; 2) proclaimed the Good News of Jesus Christ. Moravian history from 1727 reminds us of the work of the Holy Spirit: through prayer and the outpouring of God’s transforming power we experience the saving work of Jesus.
Fairview’s future with God, guided by God’s Spirit, will come with a significant prayer movement to prepare us for Jesus’ work of reviving and renewing, us all as God’s children. Through prayer we become what God desires, good and right with His plans for us. Please join in our times of prayer to align our desire with God, our Father in heaven.
