UPCOMING SUNDAY SCHEDULE
February 08, 2026 The Reverend Michael Brown

February 15, 2026 The Reverend Doctor Stephen Martin will be installed at Fairview Moravian Church and deliver the messages going forward; he will start his position on February 1, 2026.

Rev. Dr. Stephen (Steve) Martin – Intentional Interim Pastor
Steve’s first love is creative arts and prior to entering the ministry, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Studio Art; with this degree, he worked and taught as a freelance artist in Austin, Texas. Steve was then called into ministry and holds a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern and a Doctor of Ministry degree (with distinction) from Drew University, Madison, New Jersey. His dissertation, “The Arts and the Church: Rediscovering the Value of Creativity in Theological Praxis,” revealed Steve’s passion for both faith and art.
Weaving together threads of theological reflection and artistic expression, Steve has had the opportunity to write, teach and create occasions that embrace those virtuous experiences as a part of ministry and service. This integrative effort has given him insight and experience into incorporating his working theology into the life of the church. His faith is evident in both the art he creates and in his ministry.
Steve has served three churches as Senior Pastor and three churches as an Intentional Interim Minister, spanning over thirty plus years. He is certified from the Center for Congregational Health, Winston-Salem, in Intentional Interim Ministry, a training that provides specialization in all facets of transitional ministry and congregational life.
Steve is married to Mary Ruth Gore Martin, a Complex Care Condition Nurse Case Manager for United Health Care. Together they have 31-year-old twins: Andrew (Washington DC) and Rebecca (Winston-Salem.) The Martins reside in Kernersville, North Carolina.
